The rivers and estuaries of Far North Queensland are an excellent destination for fly fishing. When you choose a Cairns fly fishing charter with us, you’ll be doing everything from chasing Golden Trevally, Queenfish and if you’re lucky a Permit on the flats, to casting around weed beds and certain mangrove banks for Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queenfish, many species of Trevally, Tarpon and the list goes on. Techniques and locations vary, pending time of year and weather conditions. In the earlier parts of the year, we can get upstream in the freshwater chasing Sooty Grunter, Jungle Perch, Barramundi, Tarpon and Mangrove Jack. All great sport fish, in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. You tell us your preferences and we’ll tailor a Cairns fly fishing charter, to suit you. We keep our numbers small and our experience big.

What Our Customers Think

"Top guide who knows what he's doing, will go above and beyond to find the fish and accommodate to whatever you need. Top bloke, excellent service and quality gear. Highly recommend a booking."

Anthony Sexton

"Will was awesome. From the moment he picked me up, till I was dropped back at my hotel, I was so well looked after. Fish Hunter FNQ made a birthday fish one to remember. I had two wishes: 1 to catch my first barra; 2 was to get a jungle perch, both were achieved through a very knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend Fish Hunter FNQ to anyone wanting a great day out on the water catching fish, you won’t be disappointed. I will be sure to book again when I come back up later in the year. Thanks again mate."
